This is a thank you to autumn and to the earth (which are really one and the same) for marching to the beat of their own drummer. On Friday in NYC, all were abuzz about the stormy weather coming our way. My co-workers worried it may impeded their Halloween weekend plans. Strangers on street corners were placing bets on whether we will see any “snow action”. The check out guy at Trader Joes delightfully brought up the blustery winds and how much he loved that type of weather. And, of course the news was all over it big time.
All in all, earth created some ice-breaking topics of conversation.
Me, I realized I had been sucked into the vortex of weather anxiety when upon rolling over at 7am on Saturday, I took a peak behind my drapes to see if this frazzled autumn weather was really here. I saw a few rain drops and fell back asleep while listening to them splash on my window sill.
It is now 11:32am on October 29th and it is seriously snowing in NYC. I tell ya, that earth is one unpredictable yet entertaining friend!

Weather always makes a great conversation starter or an ending.
Luckily, it changes often enough to be a valid current events topic if one hates politics. The difference is that politics divide while weather unifies.
“politics divide while weather unifies”. I love that!
It is so true. Somehow talking about the weather became trite and trivial conversation in general but I love talking about it! It really does unify us all. Thank you for sharing! The next time I feel myself being dragged into an exhausting political debate, I will bring up the weather and see what happens
