Two words have been rattling inside of my head over the last few weeks. These two words are incredibly similar in sound and letter construction and are even related to each other on a very deep level. The two words I am referring to are PLANET and PLANT.
Is this a coincidence?. For days I have been meaning to look up the answer to this but something has held me back. Maybe my resistance to finding the answer comes from wanting to hold onto the wonder I felt when I realized the similarity between the two words. I became so excited when these words floated through my mind. I am sure a lightbulb popped up above my head in the alternate cartoon version of the world somewhere. It really was one of those A-HAH! moments for me.
So I was not ready to learn about the origins of these two words and why they are so similar. Who knows, maybe there is no answer and it really is a coincidence but for now, I enjoy the reasoning I came up with. Crying goes along with tears, chewing goes along with food. You can’t really have one without the other. Our planet would not be the same place without plants. Plants would be hopeless without the planet providing the growth elements required for their survival. They have a symbiotic relationship and only one little E sets them apart. This is very cool and thrilling for me.
Not only are plants vital to our Eco-system, they are also vital for our health. Plant based food is rich in nutrients that can heal us in so many ways. It’s no wonder that many people feel calm and centered when they are surrounded by plants. Or why the flower/plant industry is such a hit. I think humans intrinsically know that we play a big part in the planet-plant relationship. When discovering the benefits of consuming an organic plant based diet, I learned about a concept that makes so much sense yet we don’t always recognize how powerful it is. To sum it up, what is beneficial to the planet is also beneficial to us. What nourishes us and heals us, also heals the planet and all mother natures’ creatures. By consuming an organic plant based diet, we heal ourselves, we avoid releasing the damaging pollution of factory made and factory farmed foods and we also protect all the living creatures.
If anybody knows the actual connection between these two words or if there even is one, I am ready to hear about it. Do you think it’s just a coincidence?.
